Casey came over today and knocked down the kitchen wall. I was excited enough about finally getting this useless barrier & wasted space removed & my kitchen enlarged, but there were two bonuses I didn't count on:
1. The vent in the wall can be redirected to send much-needed extra heat to the basement!
2. After the wall was removed we realized the flooring which I hated almost as much as the wall, could easily be removed and underneath was ... fanfare please wood flooring! Now my kitchen floor is no longer 1/4 inch higher than the rest of the house! Can't tell you how that was throwing me off balance.
Tomorrow he comes back to finish up removing the wall & old flooring. Then I will work on patching. And the photos:
